Good Morning Egypt daily TV program Interview; FAS Cold Chain exhibition; January 22, 2020
The Good Morning Egypt daily TV program interviewed some participants on day one of the Cold Chain Exhibition which was held in Egypt during the period 22-23 January, 2020.
The first interview is with farmer Abdou Taher, from Aswan governorate. Farmer Abdou, who grows date palm, attended the educational sessions and said he is planning to transfer the knowledge to farmers in his area upon return. Through the technical training which he received from FAS project, he was able to improve the quality of his dates.
The second interview is with Mr. Dominic Graham, Chief of Party of the FAS project. Mr. Graham explained that the Cold Chain Exhibition was designed to support farmers through promoting the use of technology to reduce their losses and to secure the quality and safety of their agriculture products. In general, the project works to support farmers’ investment in Upper Egypt.
The third interview is with Dr Saad Moussa, General Supervisor of Foreign Agricultural Relations at the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. Dr. Saad clarified that Egyptian smallholder farmers face the challenges of not being able to reach either domestic or international markets, so FAS project therefore works to connect smallholder farmers to larger markets.
